母の日だから舞と凛がお掃除をするの！
Mai and Lin help out by cleaning the house on Mother's Day


そして母の日にマミーへのプレゼントとして、マミーが家でゆっくりできるように舞と凛とダディーが動物園に行った。
Then we went to the zoo to let Mommy relax and have the house to herself for the day.


着くちょっと前まで強い雨が降ってたから動物園はガラガラで貸し切り状態 。
It was raining until just before we arrived, so we had the zoo nearly to ourselves.

そしていつも長い列で使えいないこのスイングも何回も使えた。
There's always a long line for this swing, but this time Lin got to use it over and over.

Mother's Day present for Baaba

優太と舞が階段で遊ぶ。親戚以外にはあまり面白くないビデオかもしれないけど、ばあばに可愛い孫たちのビデオを見せたかった。
Yuta and Mai play on the stairs. This one probably isn't terribly interesting for anyone not actually related to Mai and/or Yuta, but Baaba wanted to see video of her grandkids playing together.

Bike shopping

凛とダディーは買い物がてらにちょっと走ってくる。
Lin and Daddy took the bike out for a short ride and some shopping.



今度はロング・ツーリングに行くから凛の雨合羽を買いに
We went to buy Lin a rainsuit for our upcoming touring and camping trip.




次は公園で休憩
Next we rode to the park and rested in the sunshine.


「川が流れる公園がいい」と言ってた凛ちゃんの願いが叶った。
Lin was hoping to find a park with water, and she got what she wanted.


カモもカメもオタマジャクシもいて面白かった。
There were ducks and turtles and tadpoles to look at.


ランチは凛のリクエストでファミレス。
By Lin's request, we had lunch at a family restaurant.


買ったカッパはだいぶ大きめだけど、何年も使えそう。
The rainsuit is a little big, but we should be able to use it for several years.

凛と舞いが楽しくアイスクリームの食べさせあいっこ。
Lin feeds Mai ice cream the fun way.



動作がどんどん大きくなって、笑い声も大きくなる。
Lin's movements get bigger and bigger, and they laugh harder and harder.

Chris and Misagi's new house

今日はクリス夫妻の新居に遊びにきました〜！
We went to visit Chris and Misagi's new house in the mountains of Nagano.


とっても広くて素敵なお家で居心地抜群。



凛と舞はクリス夫妻のネコたちに会うのを楽しみにしていたんだけど、
引っ越したばかりでの慣れない環境と大騒ぎの人間たちにびっくりしてソファーの下から出てきてくれませんでした。。。
Lin and Mai were looking forward to meeting the cats, but they were scared and hid the whole time we were there.


別荘地に建てたお家だけあって家の周りは自然がいっぱい。
舞も思わず満面の笑みに。

There was lots of space to run around in the clear mountain air.


凛が道に咲いている花で上手にブーケを作って皆にプレゼントしていたよ。
Lin made a beautiful bouquet of wildflowers and weeds.



舞ちゃんだってお花つんだもん。
Mai gathered flowers too.


オーエンにあげるの。
Mai wanted to give her flowers to Uncle Owen.


みさぎちゃんと舞は家の中でバーベキュー観戦。
Mai and Misagi watch from inside while we get the bbq ready.



凛はバーベキューの手伝い。
素手でジャガイモをのせるのは熱いね。。
Lin helped out with the bbq, but it's a little hot to put on the veggies by hand.


トングを使ってもやっぱりどうやったって熱い。。
でも自分で焼いた野菜はおいしかったんだって。
It was a little easier with the tongs.


お風呂に入った後由香ちゃんとくすぐりっこして遊ぶ。
Of course, Lin and Mai had to try out Chris and Misagi's new bath, and then they launched a tickle attack on Yuka


ロード　オブ　ザリングを見ながらお休みなさ〜い。
Lin wanted to watch Lord of the Rings again.

Helping out

舞が掃除機でお掃除のお手伝い。
マミーのやり方をよく見てるんだな〜と感心しました。

お風呂上がりに大人しく遊んでると思って見たら、ベルトを枕にして
ダウニーとお尻ふきとポポちゃんのおんぶ紐とタオルが絵本の布団をかけられて
寝かしつけられていた。。。
子守唄を歌いながらトントンしている舞に話しかけたら「マミー静かによ！」と叱られました。。。
After putting all her dolls to bed, she then puts the fabric softener, baby wipes, and books to bed.

Hanami

お出かけ前に凛が舞の髪の毛を結んであげる。

公園で凜と深羽は秘密基地を見つけてちょっと休憩

ゆかちゃんが行列で有名なクリスピークリームドーナツをいっぱい買ってきてくれた！
Yuka bought lots of yummy donuts for the girls


ゆかちゃんをびっくりさせるために花びらを集めに。。
So they decided to prepare a surprise for her and went off to collect fallen cherry petals


舞ちゃんは余計なものも色々と袋にいれたけどね。
Mai ended up gathering lots of other stuff in her bag too.




そしてゆかちゃんが来たら作戦開始！
Yuka got back, so the girls carried out their plan.

For good measure, they threw petals at Uncle Owen too.


今年は桜が満開になるのが早くて半分くらい散っっちゃってたけど、やっぱり綺麗な公園だ

天気のいい土曜日に近くの公園にお花見がてら遊びに行ったよ。
We went to play in the park under the cherry blossoms.


桜そっちのけで遊ぶ子供たち。
Of course, Lin and Mai barely glanced at the flowers.


どの角度から撮っても桜が入るからいいね。
But we had great views in every direction.


モンキー舞。
Mai has gotten pretty strong.

An Lin is quite an acrobat now.


ばぁばが帰ろうと言っても２人とも帰る気なしでもっと遊ぶ〜。
Baaba wanted to go home so we could eat, but the kids wanted to keep playing.

Baaba's birthday

昨日はばぁばの誕生日だったから、１日遅れのバースディケーキを皆で食べてお祝い。
舞は美味しいケーキに「Good!」
Baaba came to visit on the day after her birthday, so we had a late birthday party for her.
Mai gives the cake a thumbs up.

曲がってるけどかなり似合ってる！

Easter

舞ちゃんここで見つけたの〜！

Let's count how many we found.


二人で英語で数えてみたら「時そば」になってしまった。
They tried counting the chocolate eggs together in English, but it got a little confusing.


早速イースターエッグを食す。
う〜んヤミー！

次は近所の皆で庭のお菓子探し。
イースターバニーがお菓子を沢山置いてってくれたんだって！
（夜中に家の周りにお菓子をバラまいていたマミーは
お隣のママに泥棒と間違えられ通報されそうになった。。。）
Next we had an Easter egg and candy hunt in the neighborhood yards.
The Easter Bunny left stuff all over the place!
(But Mommy got mistaken for a burglar the night before when she was helping the Easter Bunny.)


庭のあちらこちらにお菓子が。。皆楽しそう。子供はいいなぁ。
Everybody had lots of fun finding candy.

Singing recital

幼稚園の合唱会
凛は最初は恥ずかしいのか、振り付けをちゃんと覚えてないのか、後ろのお友達ばっかり
見て前を向いてくれなかった。。。
Lin and her class sing songs. At first Lin was nervous and couldn't face forward, but eventually she got into the spirit and sang her heart out.


でも、３曲目でやっと慣れたのか前を向いて自信をもって大きな声と
大きな振りで歌って踊っていたよ。
She even got most of the choreography right.


いえーい！
Yeah!


最初と最後のお辞儀の時の笑顔がかわいい。
一所懸命がんばったね！

舞ちゃんは何故かいつもカーテンをまとめる紐を布団代わりに
ぬいぐるみ達を寝かしつけしている。。。

Hinamatsuri

ひなまつりだよ！

Tokyu Train and Bus Museum

東急電車とバスの博物館の外の踏み切りで踏切が閉まるのを

古い電車とかがいっぱいあって楽しい！
There's lots of old trains and buses to play in.


凜は田園都市線シミュレータに挑戦。
Lin tries driving a train in the simulator.


次はバスのシミュレータだ。
舞もシフトを手伝う。
Next she tried the bus simulator, and Mai helped with the gearshift.


初めての運転は面白かったって。
Lin says her first time driving experience was fun.


オープンと同時に行ったから空いてて走り回れたけど、この後激混みになった。
We got there early and could run around in empty train cars, but by lunchtime the place was packed.


古い電車もあったよ。
There were really old trains to play in too.

Valentine Chocolate

今年のバレンタインデーは手作りチョコに挑戦。
Lin makes Valentine chocolates for her neighborhood friends.


味見も忘れずに。。。
And of course she had to test for quality.

Snow

2年ぶりの大雪！前回は舞が産まれた日だった。
舞ちゃん大きくなりました。
Mai bundles up for the cold.

Mai likes Lin's sculpture, which says her goal for the year is to help with cooking.

Mai's Birthday at Disneyland

舞の誕生日の朝
グランマとグランダから届いた絵本のプレゼントにビデオカメラに向かって
ありがとうのちゅーの顔。
Mai woke up on her birthday to open presents.
This is her thank you kiss to the camera for the book she got from Grandma and Grandad.


ディズニーランドの門が開くのを待つ。
We got to Disneyland just before the gates opened.


入り口でバースデーシールに名前を書いてもらったよ。
これを見たキャストは「お誕生日おめでとう！」と声をかけてくれました。
Mai got a happy birthday sticker at the gate, so the Disneyland cast members could congratulate her all day.


「ミート・ミッキー」でミッキーの腕にに迷わず飛び込んでいった舞。
その後もずっと「ミッチーに、ぎゅーのちゅー、ちた！」を繰り返してた。
嬉しかったんだね。
Mai runs over to hug Mickey.
Since then, she's told everyone she meets that she got to hug Mickey, so I guess she was happy about it.

この日は雪の予報だったからか、ディズニーランドは激空き！！
人がほとんどいないトゥーンタウンなんて来たこと無いよ。。。
The weather report called for snow and sleet, so Disneyland was as empty as it gets.


バスにもすぐに乗れちゃうんだ。。

ドナルドにも沢山ぎゅーできたよ。
Mai also had Donald to herself for a while


お昼ご飯のピザもモリモリ食べて、午後の遊びに備える。　
Mai fills up on pizza for the full afternoon ahead of her.


バルーが舞に近寄って来てくれた。
舞は「この熊何？」って顔。
Mai meets Baloo the bear, but wasn't sure what to think of him.


マミーがバルーにぎゅーしていたら、キング･ルイがベビーカーごと舞を連れて行っちゃった。。
空いているディズニーランドじゃなきゃ有り得ない光景。。
舞「た、助けて・・・サルに連れて行かれちゃう・・・」
Mommy's a big fan of Baloo, and while she was hugging him, King Louie grabbed the stroller and started running away with Mai.
Mai was afraid they'd take her away and make her a monkey.

皆で歌を歌いました。

その日の夜,2人は1つのベットでコショコショ話をしていると思ってたら本当に寝ちゃってました。
今日は楽しい1日だったね。
舞、お誕生日おめでとう！
ムーア家に産まれて来てくれてありがとう！
That night, Lin and Mai slept in the same bed, whispering to each other until they fell asleep.

今日はスイミングの撮影会でプールサイドまで降りて写真を撮ってもいい日でした。
ほとんど泳いでいる動画を撮ったから写真はこんなのしかないけど。。。
We finally got some pictures of Lin's swimming class, but we didn't get any good ones.


舞ちゃんのスイミング姿も撮ってみました。
久しぶりに見たら水着がパツンパツンになってる。。。大きくなったのね。
Mai's swimsuit is getting pretty small for her.

マミーの誕生日会のために凜がエンチラーダを作ってくれたよ。

Kichi RIP

ダディーの高校生のころから約２１年間ずっとグランマとグランダに付き合ってくれて、凛と舞に会えるまで生き延びてくれて、子供の乱暴な扱いを我慢してくれてありがとう。
Kichi, thanks for taking care of Grandma and Grandad all that time.
Thanks for living long enough to meet Lin and Mai.
Thanks for putting up with the rough treatment of little kids.
Thanks for being a great cat.
