Lin & Mai: 2007/03

Hinamatsuri

駒沢公園にて仲良く遊ぶ二人
Lin and Mai play in Komazawa park.

最近泥だんご作りにハマってる凜
Recently Lin makes mud balls whenever she gets a chance.

なぜか違う家族の輪に混じり、お姉ちゃんの真似をする舞
And Mai tries to copy her sister, but can't seem to keep the sand in her hands.

今日はひな祭りだ！　でもこの着物ちょっと長くない？
Today is Hinamatsuri (the Doll Festival).
But isn't this kimono a little long?

雛人形と舞

Whaddaya think?

「ハイ、ドージョ！」と人形を渡すゴタ舞
Mai tries to hand Mommy the doll.

凜と花奈乃が自転車で探検して、ダディーは歩いてついて行こうとした。
でもどんどん置いて行かれちゃう。
Lin and Hanano went on a bicycle expedition with Daddy following on foot.
Daddy kept getting left behind.

公園に着いて自転車を降りても、ダディーは置いてけぼり
Even when we got to the park and they got off the bikes, Daddy still couldn't keep up.

帰りの上り坂も立ちこぎで頑張る二人
Lin and Hanano work hard getting up the hills on the way back.

そして二つ目の公園で高くブランコを蹴り上げる
But first we had to stop in a second park to use the swingsets.

あ～、今日は暑いね。とお茶で一休み
What a hot day. Time for a break with cold tea.

三つ目の公園に向かう途中、遠くからマミーと舞ちゃんを発見。
On the way to a third park, we passed near home and saw Mommy and Mai from a distance over the plum blossoms.

そして今日の四つ目の公園でマミーと舞が合流。
Then Mommy and Mai joined us at the fourth park of the day for some seesawing.

帰ったらお揃いのTシャツに着替えてお雛様と
Lin and Hanano changed into matching T-shirts after getting home, and then took a picture with the dolls.

そして幼稚園でも大流行の「ちょっと！ちょっとちょっと！」
Lin and Hanano recite a popular comedy gag.

最後に毎週通ってるスティンガー家でまた包丁の練習。
ズッキーニだと切りやすい！

And finally, we headed over to Yuka and Owen's house (like we do every weekend) so Lin could practice some more knife work. Zucchini is much easier to cut than tomatoes.

Cuttin' it up

オーエンと由佳の家に行って、サウロンの目の下でパーティー料理のお手伝い。
親じゃ怖くて包丁なんて持たせられないけど、本当はこうやって
経験させた方がいいんだよね。由佳、ありがとね。
Lin helps Yuka cut the tomatoes for her party under the watchful eye of the Dark Lord Sauron.
We never let Lin use a kitchen knife at home, but Yuka made sure she was safe and Lin was happy to try a new experience. Thanks, Yuka!

凜「ほら見て上手に切れたでしょ?」
マミー「凜!切ってるときは包丁に集中しなさーい!!!
Lin: Look how I cut the tomato!
Mommy: Don't look at me, look at the knife!

パーティーに来た美七海ちゃんと。
Lin met a new friend, Minami, at the party.

ハーレーで2ケツ。
When it was time for Lin to go home, Minami tried out the Harley too.

久しぶりに深羽ちゃんと一緒にお風呂に入れて大はしゃぎ
Lin and Mihane had fun to splashing around in the bath together.

ん？スプーンの持ち方間違ってる
This isn't the right way to hold a spoon?

舞ちゃん上手に食べられるでしょ？
I'm good at eating now.

友達に教えてもらった公園に土手滑りに行ったよ。
でも前の日の雨で土手が湿ってて全然滑らなかった
Our friends told us about this park with a hill so steep you can sled down even without snow. But it was a little muddy and Lin couldn't get much speed.

つまんないから走って降りて遊びました。
So she tried running down instead.

Kazu's birthday

舞に話しかけているところ。

ホームセンターでマミーと一緒にエクササイズ。
At the home improvement store, Lin exercises with Mommy.

乗馬エクササイズをする凜の後ろで、舞は体重測定。
Mai checks her weight and bodyfat while Lin practices horseback riding.

ダディーの足に乗って1、2、1、2。
Mai walks with Daddy.

今日はカズの誕生日。凜はカズのために手紙を書いた。
「かずへ、おたんじょうびおめでとうおおきくなったらじてんしゃが
ほしいですか? りんより」嫌味・・?
It's Kazu's birthday! Lin helps Kazu open her present.
The present included a card from Lin, where Lin wrote in almost decipherable handwriting "Do you want a bicycle when you get bigger?"
Unfortunately, Kazu's not likely to get much bigger, though.
